Description
After a presentation of his work at the end of January, Eltono offered to middle school students an introduction to collage in public space.
It was on the MJC Palente in Besançon that he set his sights, the quirky architecture of the building lending itself well to its geometric compositions. A first time of location on site allowed the college students to choose an interesting and inspiring corner.
In March, the students made a scenario of their compositions on the photos of the chosen places. After complex calculations and measurements, the students traced, cut and painted their linear and geometric compositions, before the last long-awaited step: installing and pasting the compositions. The students, helped by Eltono and the team of Juste Ici, went to the MJC Palente to finally transform their forms into real compositions, well in symbiosis with the architecture of the corner of their choice.
Biography
From abstract graffiti to installations, Eltono is constantly looking for the anomalies or systems of repetitions at work in the towns that he visits. His curiosity leads him to create extremely methodical and often aleatory abstract series (paintings on doors, installations, sculptures, walks…). He rarely maintains control over what he has created, letting the city and its users modify, alter, or enhance his offerings developed under constraints, creating potential works of art in construction.
