Description
Mathilde Gintz & Adeline Vieira from the ConstructLab collective wanted to highlight the rails still present in the Prés-de-Vaux neighborhood, witnesses of a past working class life. They wrote on them, in white ink, snippets of testimonies from the inhabitants and passers-by of the neighborhood, collected by our civic service volunteers Claire Monribot & Laura Tisserand.
Action
The ConstructLab and Hôp Hop Hop collectives explored the present and questioned the future of the Prés-de-Vaux during a week of residency, from June 19th to 25th 2022. Equipped with microphones, notebooks and cameras, they surveyed the neighborhood to translate it in an artistic way.
Fichtre! is an event supported by the Ministry of Culture, the DRAC Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the Région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand Besançon Métropole and the City of Besançon.
Biography
ConstructLab is a European network of architect-artists. Rather than imagining new buildings, they construct common and collaborative situations with existing places and those who live in them. The collective rafts in streams, builds furniture to create links between communities.
