Animals, flowers, plants… The artist Margaux Grappe from Besançon proposes a bucolic mural to accompany the recent vegetalization of the space in front of the premises of the association Miroirs de femmes.
After a preparation of the wall, a nice coat of paint and a projection of the illustrations imagined by the volunteers of Miroirs de femmes, redrawn and composed by Margaux… time to paint! After the confinement, we continued the workshops alone… Many thanks again to the passers-by for their encouragement and compliments.
Margaux took the opportunity to pay homage to the rabbit drawing, inspired by an engraving by Albrecht Dürer, previously visible on the entrance of the nearby school (because yes, we are here in the Rue Dürer!).
The first side of the wall is finished… Now we’re waiting for the return of the beautiful days to find back the volunteers and begin the other side of the wall!
LES ATELIERS JUSTE ICI
The Ateliers Juste Ici is a project of collective and creative appropriation of public spaces.
Supported by the Juste Ici association, this action is part of the City Contract and is supported by the City of Besançon, Grand Besançon Métropole, CGET, DRAC and the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.
Margaux Grappe has been a graphic designer-illustrator since January 2019. She works in her studio in Besançon (FR) for authors and children’s publishing houses and also creates murals for public structures.
She studied graphic design in 2014 in Besançon and then joined the Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’Epinal (FR) in 2016. In this school, she was able to explore the arts of image and narration. Her work revolves much around the shapes and colors achieved with acrylic paint.
