In this episode, French artist Eltono tells many stories about his past as a graffiti artist and his inspirations; about the transition from chrome and black outlines to brush and tape, about crucial decisions and hopes. But. Let’s start from the beginning.
FROM THE LETTERS OF A NAME is a documentary series created by MZM Projects.
Just over a year ago, video duo MZM set out to explore the history of the transition from graffiti to post-graffiti. Over a period of several months, they interviewed a number of artists to talk about their graffiti past and the impact of this practice on their artistic creation today.
MZM PROJECTS is a group of independent video artists focused on researching and documenting creative practices in the city. It was formed by Kristina Borhes and Nazar Tymoshchuk in Ukraine around 2015. The group’s main objective is storytelling in a very particular way: “We try to capture the essence of what is visible, combined with personal experience with an artistic approach. We want to convey raw emotion, we want to seduce and mystify” (MZM PROJECTS)
