Description
For the 3rd edition of the Village du Monde multicultural market in Planoise (Besançon, FR), we offered Miroirs de femmes to support their event by lending them a hand on signage.
We invited the artist Cyprien Desrez with whom we offered six free workshops for all audiences in sewing and screen printing, organized at the Planoise neighborhood house between November 23 and December 3, 2019.
The participants imagined patterns linked to their origins and their culture to constitute a general pattern mixing all the creations and printing them on giant cloth banners, which were installed on Place Cassin for the Village du Monde market, from 4 as of December 7, 2019.

Biography
Cyprien Desrez likes to travel. Through his travels, but also through the internet or even through supermarkets, he takes pleasure in discovering new territories, studying the composition of the spaces he comes into contact with and understanding – at least in part – how these can to define oneself.
He likes to endorse the attitude of the hawker, of the one who moves (spatially or virtually), collects information (images, words, languages, gestures) related to cultural identities to translate them. Starting from the observation of how regions and identities can be formed, he likes to see how these can be mixed.
