Action
RECOVER THE STREETS
Five European events and cities (Besançon, Cologne, Zaragoza, Toulouse and Zagreb) collaborated for this event during which the selected artists transformed abandoned site into living spaces. In Besançon, the Billard lane in the Battant district has been unused until now because it is considered dirty and dangerous. After six days of intensive work, it has now become a pleasant passage in the neighborhood. Thanks to the City Council of Besançon for having cleaned and prepared the place, to the Advisory Council of the Inhabitants of Battant and to the neighboring owners including Grand Besançon Habitat!
Biography
Tuco’s creations are quickly recognizable: mixing human bodies and animal bodies, the artist creates hybrid creatures called manimals, which he comes to place in the recesses and walls offered by the public space in which he operates.
