Description
“My initial idea was to visually define the listening area of my musical proposal, and to allow the visitor / passer-by to be able to make his choice of mix between two signals: a voice (Sylvie Marceau, a musician who reads Dostoyevsky) and an assembly of sound effects / music that I composed. Depending on the listening position, the voice seems to come from the ground or from the real point of diffusion. Putting your hands on your ears changes perception and increases the intelligibility of the recorded voice.” Étienne Bultingaire

Biography
Sound concept creator for the pioneer of electro-acoustic music Pierre Henry and artistic co-director of Lutherie Urbaine, Étienne Bultingaire is a conscientious artist-poet of the acoustic in situ who mixes an extreme precision with little-known recovered materials or sound properties. He creates for the Clos Barbizier an interactif sound scenary: the sounds captured are traited and then diffused while doing echo to the interventions of those who will scratch, rub or play two unusual instruments he will build and install within the Clos Barbizier during the first days of Bien Urbain.
