Description
In search of surfaces to paint, Alias Ipin arrives in autumn 2016 in Gignac-la-Nerthe (Bouches-du-Rhône). He finds his inspiration in the recent history that has upset the routine of the district: the eviction of the former tenants of an entire hamlet in favour of a building construction. The artist symbolically bars these houses emptied of their tenants. The human drama was then revealed, leading to a more documentary approach that allowed the artist to meet the people concerned and gather their testimonies.
On Friday, May 26, 2017, the opening of the exhibition took place in the presence of the artist. Alias Ipin presented his series and exchanged with those present about his project.
