Description
The professional degree METI (Exhibition and information technology trades) in collaboration with the Laboratoires Logiques de l’Agir (EA2274) and Institut des Sciences et Techniques de l’Antiquité (EA4011) of the Franche-Comté’s University, in partnership with the Juste Ici association – Bien Urbain festival and the French Urban Art Federation, has organize an international conference about several interesting ways to exhibit urban art today.
This public meeting presented over 2 days university’s speakers’s lectures, artists and professionals whose work question gather the documentation’s role, the place, and the exhibition’s format (museums, galleries, brownfields, more or less immersive scenographies), the modalities to “exhibit” in the street, underline the work’s contextual dimension, or even the artist’s confrontation to new places of creation.
Exhibiting urban art an innovative research theme, it has no real expression place in France or internationally, and we wished to provide a place for exchanges to all partners involved in this approach. In order to cross the question of the modalities of the exhibition of the urban art today in its whole, differents themes were discussed :
→ Exhibiting urban art
→ Exhibiting the invisible
→ Exhibiting and documenting
→ Exhibiting at city scale
The proceedings of the two-day conference will be published soon.
