How to make the sound be heard with as few tricks as possible?
It is in this question that the challenge of Olivier Toulemonde’s work lies. Invited to Bien Urbain 6 (L’oreille en boucle, as part of Parcours, promenades sonores), Olivier returned with Conduites, an installation made of pipes!
He suggested that you should listen and be surprised by the sounds of voices transported by these ancestors of communication networks.

For over 20 years, Olivier Toulemonde’s working listening, the research and the sound improvisation in connection with the place where it is located. The relationship between the body of the musician, tools or instruments that it uses and space and its acoustic features open up many possibilities that it operates in a sensitive and curious way. OU Olivier Toulemonde’s work is concerned with the way in which sound is propagated and perceived – by hearing and also by the body – in a given space. His interventions intrigue and invite to experiment listening. He realizes for Bien Urbain a sound installation to follow, inspired by the phone ancestor and composed of long pipes whispering to your ear.
